What programs will be on the laptops that can be used in Mathematics lessons?

     GeoGebra, Google Sketchup 7, Excel, Access, Word, SmartNotebook, OneNote, Powerpoint, the whole Adobe suite, Student Response Network, Microsoft Math 3.0 and much more...

 

Are the students expected to use the laptops all lesson, every lesson?

     No, the laptops are another tool for teaching mathematics.  Technology should be used to enhance the learning taking place in the classroom, not simply because it's there. 

 

What are some of the benefits of using laptops in Mathematics lessons?

     Visual, dynamic geometry and graphing capability, speeds up repetitive tasks, complicated calculations become easily computed to make higher order tasks more accessible to lower ability students, makes connections to the real world.

 

What can we do if we don't have internet access in the Maths room?

     All the software available on the laptops can be used without connectivity.  Resources are being developed which offer suggestions for activities that require little or no connectivity.
